What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think 50's? Yep, polka dot and full skirt. i got both in one dress.

I think this was one of the full skirt first dresses I have made and then wore with petticoat. It was not too complicated to make and the result (as with any clothing from the 50's) was totally rewarding.

Back in 50's fashion was extremely feminine and sexy and dresses were made to create an hourglass body shape. This dress uses some tricks from that era to create a beautiful silhouette.
- The dress is cut below chest to show off waist with some pleats above the cut to add extra volume (if you know what I mean)))).
- Because of the cut the bodice creates an upside down triangle shape that makes waist look smaller.
- Short cape sleeves do several tricks. First, they support the inverted triangle top shape. Second, they create rounded more feminine shoulders. And third they are not tight and they make top part of the arms look more slender.
The dress turned out to be pretty, but yet simple enough to wear it every day. And very comfy))).
