Updated heels
18:46When you have things you really like you have hard time letting them go. At least I do. I got this boots that took me lots of effort to find. But the heels got all scratched up. Well, I could throw them away and use this as a reason to buy myself some new boots...Nah! Am I looking for easy ways?
Heels are a part of the shoos that gets worn out first. For lots of reasons. My boots with ruined heels looked like this:
Of corse I could take them to someone who knows what he is doing, but this was obviously not fun enough. So i decided to try what decoupage is. Basically, this is a tecnique that allows to decorate almost any surface with tissue napkin fragments. What you need is sandpaper, school glue (Elmer's school glue will work fine), white acrylic foundation and finishing polish. And some masking tape. And a napkin.
Wash the boots and use masking tape to separate your working area. Rub the surface you wanna decorate with sandpaper. This will help the foundation to stay versus peeling of after sometime.
Now when foundation is dry, divide napkin into layers and ct out the details you will use for your heels decoration. Spread glue on the heel evenly with soft brush and put your napkin cutouts on top. Use dry brush to make sure the paper is distributed evenly. Don't try too hard - tissue soaks in glue and and it is very easy to tear it. In case you are doing it for the first time choose patterns with no specific structure. If you tear the napkin while applying it to the heel surface you can always cut out a separate motif and place it on the torn spot.
Now you just gotta wait a bit till it dries completely, remove masking tape, and cover with finishing polish. It has to be water resistant as you apply it to the heels.
